Redskins Offensive Line In Shambles

Starting RT Stephon Heyer has injured his knee on a goal line running play in this mornings practice. The folks over at Redskins camp say he will be getting an MRI later today to find out the severity of the injury.

We have been hearing reports of some terrible offensive line play for the Redskins and now injuries are starting to factor in as well. RG Randy Thomas is out with a knee injury of his own right now though the team says they expect him to be participating by the end of the week. Center Casey Rabach is dealing with a sore calf muscle as well and his play so far is showing that.

Though Thomas and Rabach should be fine, the Heyer injury would be devastating to a line that isn't nearly as deep as it has been in years past. I guess they should have kept longtime RT Jon Jansen instead of allowing him to go to Detroit. Starting LT Chris Samuels has also been getting beat like a drum by defensive pass rushers lately with several onlookers telling me that he looks "slow and old" at this point. I'm downgrading Clinton Portis even further now as I just don't see much running room being created with the lack of health and depth on this offensive front right now.
