Reggie Bush's Knee Still An Issue
Reggie Bush is not participating in the Saints morning practice session due to swelling in his surgically repaired knee. This comes just one day after ESPN analyst Chris Mortensen described Bush as being "explosive" during workouts on Sunday. It is well known that ESPN pumps up Reggie Bush as it does with several superstar players around the league. Remember the non-reporting of the Ben Roethlisberger rape story just a couple weeks ago? Sickening, isn't it?
Head coach Sean Payton went on to explain the Reggie Bush situation and mentioned that Bush underwent surgery in the spring of this year. Unless Payton is off by a few months this now verifies the rumor that Bush underwent multiple procedures this offseason. He has microfracture surgery in January of this year which until now is the only procedure reported.
It is becoming clear that you cannot trust Reggie Bush as one of your starting RB's this season. You just do not know when or how that knee will flare up. He must be treated similarly to Brian Westbrook in that if you select either this year you will have to make sure to also take Pierre Thomas or LeSean McCoy as a handcuff and injury replacement. Both Bush and Westbrook could be stars again this season or both could miss a ton of time. For me, this just doesn't warrant an early round selection for these kinds of problems.
