Redskins Sign WR D.J. Hackett

The Redskins sent WR Roydell Williams packing this morning having reached an injury settlement with him after he broke his pinkie. No sooner was Williams release verified that the announcement the team had signed former Seattle WR D.J. Hackett made.

Evidently, the Redskins have been in contact with Hackett for awhile but would not guarantee him anything more than a tryout for the final WR spot on the team. Hackett, or possibly his agent thought that he would be able to get a better opportunity this offseason but it quickly became clear any chance is better than nothing. Redskins head coach Jim Zorn is familiar with Hackett from their days in Seattle together so I would expect him to get a solid look during camp.
