Kenny Britt To Come Off PUP List Friday; Matt Jones Next?
This is the kind of inside information you get from our draft kit and that you won't be able to find anywhere else.
The Titans are going to remove rookie WR Kenny Britt from the PUP list tomorrow. He'll run through a light practice on Friday but will not play in the teams preseason opener on Sunday. Britt has been slow to recover from a hamstring injury that he suffered during spring workouts. The thought is they will bring him around slow all week and give him some time in next weeks game against Tampa Bay.
In other Tennessee news, I am hearing that free agent WR Matt Jones will be in camp tomorrow also for a visit and a probable workout. I really don't understand why the Titans would want to bring in Jones since they are already much deeper at WR than they have been in years. Either they are really worried about Britt's long-term health or they are not found of Justin Gage's performance so far. It is expected that Britt & Gage line up opposite while Nate Washington plays out of the slot. The Titans have too good of TE's to consider playing out of 4 WR sets very often during the regular season so Jones would only be used as depth.
I will update this post with more as the story develops.
