The Michael Vick Aftermath

I am only going to write this last post about Michael Vick and then it is time for all of us to move on. Huge stories like this in the preseason worry me because fantasy players tend to draft guys like this way too high based on hearing their names a lot on TV and reading them in the newspapers. Remember Brett Favre last year? Taken way too high in all drafts. I am expecting the same for Vick, who shouldn't be taken at all, this year.

I have personal knowledge that the Jacksonville Jaguars were desperately seeking Michael Vick. I have also learned that the Bengals were involved as well and actually made an offer to Vick's camp. The problem was that Vick's mentor, Tony Dungy wanted him to sign with a team that had firm leaders and a stable program in order for Vick to learn good ethics both on the field and off.

The Eagles are not the best fit for Vick, as he'll be fighting to earn a #2 or #3 QB job there this was more about life than it was football. For that, Philadelphia really is the best place for him right now.
