Calvin Johnson In A Cast

Detroit stud WR Calvin Johnson is currently in a thumb cast after jamming his fingers in practice on Sunday. This came as a big surprise to those covering the team including my Lions beat reporter who had spoken with Johnson briefly after workouts Sunday. The team is saying that the cast is only precautionary and that X-rays and further tests are on the way. The hope is that there isn't a fracture in there because that will cause Johnson to miss some time and possibly a regular season game or two.

Calvin Johnson is poised to become one of the top fantasy players, not just WR's this season. There isn't a more naturally gifted, hard working player in the NFL. He is the kind of player you absolutely dream about and anybody who snatches him up in their draft, thumb injury or not will be very happy with him all season long.
