Roundup 8/6

News & Notes: From My Blackberry To Your Eyes
WARD BANGED UP
Tampa Bay RB Derrick Ward is wearing a walking boot on his injured foot and will be held out of practice on Friday. His official status is day-to-day but he'll lose some time as the Bucs take some extra precaution with their new RB. Head coach Raheem Morris didn't sound overly concerned about Ward's status in his post practice update session.
FALCONS SIGN ANOTHER WR
The Falcons signed free agent WR Marty Booker this evening. Booker is the second WR signed by the team today as they also inked Robert Ferguson this morning. With Harry Douglas out for the season and Roddy White holding out for a new contract, the Falcons are in desperate need of somebody to catch the football from Matt Ryan. The team also had worked out Ike Hilliard this morning but decided to go with Ferguson instead.
THE ROYAL TREATMENT
Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels went out of his way to praise second year WR Eddie Royal today. McDaniels went as far as to say that in a couple of years they will be comparing receivers to Royal and not Patriots WR Wes Welker. The comparison was made to Welker and McDaniels basically said that Royal is far more talented and should produce another 90+ catch season in this offense. I think that Royal is an outstanding value pick in the middle rounds. In a PPR league he may be one of the top 12 WR's overall when all is said and done.
SPEAKING OF THE BRONCOS
Sources in and around the Broncos tell me that the team has agreed in principle with first round pick Knowshon Moreno but that there are still a few details to be sorted out. An official announcement should come as early as tomorrow afternoon.
